Dews Hits Top #3 in Eurotour
Dews Finishes top 3 in EuroTour
As the European professional race circuit comes to a close, Dews has cemented 3rdon the tour leader board in his debut summer on the tour.
“It’s pretty cool surprise to make the overall podium in such an elite field , especially after only having 3 races on the Eurotour (5 results count).”
‘I’ve taken a lot of confidence away from this year’s European season, moving into the second half of the year.”
Next on the racing calendar, Dews has now set his sights on the Molokai2Oahu paddleboard race at the end of July.
“It’s always a pretty nerve racking coming into the Molokai to Oahu race. This will be my 7th crossing of the Kawaii channel. And there’s always a lot of behind the scenes preparation that goes into this event.”
“The last 6 months we have really worked hard with Simon and the crew at DEEP Oceanboards, on refining my UL (Unlimited) boards for the race.”
“We decided to go for a more conservative approach with board design this year. The aim was to design a board that would work well over 4 hours, and be contently fast across all the different conditions you can experience in a channel crossing. The steering system was another focus of this year’s design. Creating a system which would give direct feedback, while not slowing the board speed down too much.” – Simon, DEEPoceanboards.
With final preparations underway for the Molokai2Oahu which Starts Sunday, 29th July. Stay connected with the race though Livestream from Lincolns escort boat throughout the race, accessible on Lincoln's Facebook page.
